"Real" Food

A lot happens in life when you have a growing baby. A lot happens in 2-3 months! So, I feel like I have a lot to catch up on, which I will try to do over the next couple of days. Enjoy đŸ™‚
We started solid food a few days before Noah turned 6 months old. I’m so glad we waited. He ate cereal like a pro!

I just love all of his facial expressions!

Not too bad…

Ick!

Another try…

More please!

Trying peas…our first vegetable

Not a great photo, but I just love how he crossed his arms!
Having a banana (& feeding myself!)

At 8 1/2 months, our food “repertoire” consists of zucchini, peas, green beans, avocados, sweet potatoes, carrots, butternut squash, bananas, pears, apricots, apples, blueberries, oatmeal, and rice cereal. He has had the occasional bite of bread. He absolutely loves to feed himself cherrios and saltine crackers, and he takes this task very seriously. We discovered his love of saltines when we were eating at a restaurant with Mom & Katey. He was watching us all eat and was kind of giving us the “where’s mine?” look, so Mom asked the waiter for some crackers. It was quite a treat for him! A week or so previous to this, we were in Oklahoma City and the waiter at Ted’s brought out some special sopapillas for him (mini ones without the cinnamon and sugar). He chewed and sucked on those for a good long time and definitely enjoyed them!
I know it’s time to start proteins, but I just can’t make myself puree meat. Something about it just doesn’t seem natural. Plus, I feel like I shouldn’t make my baby eat anything that I wouldn’t eat, and I am pretty confident that I would not eat pureed meat of any kind. He now has 6 teeth (2 on bottom and 4 on top) to help him with all the eating. He can drink water from a sippy cup but usually prefers just to chew on the cup and bang it on his high chair tray.
I know this probably isn’t the most exciting post to read, but I thought in a year or two I may want to read about his early experiences with “real” food!
